The Dukan Diet – Disclosing the Truth

The Dukan Diet is the idea of a French doctor, Doctor. Pierre Dukan, MD. Around a decade ago, Doctor. Dukan revealed his suggested eating plan, and it took the world by storm. While it’s very simple in principle, the execution is a touch more complex.

The Dukan diet claims to put you into a position where you can eat anything you like for the rest of your life after you pass through the original phases. Many people, including some widely known celebrities, swear by it, and use it to maintain their perfect figures. It’s rumored that Kate Middleton, now the Duchess of Cambridge, utilized the Dukan diet before her wedding to Prince William.

During the first phase – labeled the “attack phase”, you are restricted to lean meat. The reason for this is simple: Protein is the hardest of all of the food groups to process internally, and therefore yields the tiniest number of calories processed and digested, relative to the amount consumed. By doing this you’ll force your system to work tougher to digest its food, and speed up your metabolism radically.

In the next phase, labeled the “cruise phase”, a bunch of extra foods – mostly veg – are allowed. While these are a bit easier to digest, your body will still struggle to extract much in terms of caloric intake, and will still need to try hard, metabolically speaking.

In the 3rd phase, or the “consolidation phase”, still more foods are permitted. While a number of these foods are less difficult to digest and absorb, your body’s metabolism has at that point been sped up so much that the other foods don’t truly set a problem in terms of weight gain.

During the final phase – referred to as the stabilising phase – as weird as it may sound, you can eat what you like. The sole obligation is you have to revert to lean protein for one full day of each week and try to keep the consumption of rich foods inside moderate limits. Keeping up this pattern will keep your metabolism running at peak levels, and allow your body to cruise thru the challenges thrown its way during the other days of the week.

Theoretically, it’s dreadfully effective. On the negative side , however , you will have to watch out for possible hard stools – particularly during the first week when you do not consume any fiber. To help combat the issue you will need to consume as much water as possible. Also , it’s possible to get bored by eating a limited diet during the first phases.

Additionally, it can become quite expensive – particularly if you’ve got a healthy appetite!
